The old fashioned way of boiling them to death has earned Brussels sprouts bad reputation, but they can be incredibly tasty if treated with a little love and imagination. Our streaky bacon is a perfect match for the fresh flavours of a good sprout. Give this bacon Brussels sprouts recipe a try and your sprouts will shine!

Ingredients

1kg Brussels sprouts, chopped into halves
360g Finest Farmhouse streaky bacon, chopped into chunks
1 tbs olive oil
salt and pepper

Method Bacon Brussels Sprouts Recipe

Place the Finest Farmhouse streaky bacon chunks in a pan and fry over a medium heat until they start to go crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan, leaving the fat behind.

Next add the olive oil to the pan along with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Place the Brussles sprouts flat side down in the pan, cover with foil and turn down the heat to medium-low. Allow to cook for 10-15 minutes until the sprouts have a golden sheen.

Add the bacon to pan again and stir to heat through. They can now be served immediately or kept warm for your Christmas dinner. Delicious!
